Athletic Taping and Support Techniques
This workshop provides professional “hands-on” taping techniques for the ankle, wrist, thumb, elbow and knee. With recreational and competitive sports participation on the rise, the “Weekend Warrior” has become more prominent in the lives of professional health care workers. Using athletic taping and bracing, the clinician can be well-armed in assisting athletic patients to full, fast return to their recreational and sporting activities and prevent reoccurrence of the conditions. Improve skills and knowledge related to extrinsic and intrinsic joint support (with emphasis on preventing athletic injuries). Learn to use athletic tape and other materials to provide functional support for peripheral joints for the purpose of preventing or treating athletic injuries. Understand the indications and contraindications of taping peripheral joints. Learn the guidelines for effective taping. The 12 hour seminar covers: Organic disease processes that may find their way into chiropractic offices, diseases that APPEAR to be of musculoskeletal origin; The profile and natural history of various organic conditions which cause or mimic back or neck pain; Specific strategies on confirming your diagnostic suspicions; Methods of evaluation with the highest potential predictive value.
